The Workshop of Davidson’s signature fundraising event, the 4^th Annual Art From the Heart dinner and art show, was a huge success earlier this month at the Davidson County Community College Rittling Conference Center. As with each year at the event, beautiful paintings and photographs, all by adults with developmental disabilities, are sold to raise funds to support the Workshop’s vocational and life skills programs. If you were not able to attend the event on July 16^th, you can still purchase framed and unframed prints, greeting card packs and cookbooks…thanks to The Purple Pig Emporium on Main Street in uptown Lexington.

“The Workshop rents retail space from the Purple Pig that features our artist’s artwork”, said Workshop Executive Director, Mike foster. Foster added, “Our partnership with the Purple Pig has been very successful because within our space, we have the ability to display all of our artist’s work, so shoppers can easily see all that’s available and purchase their favorites”.

Workshop artwork can be seen and purchased at The Purple Pig Emporium during their regular business hours, Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM. A percentage of the artwork sales goes directly to the artists in the Workshop program.
