About The Workshop of Davidson
A community where ability leads. We help adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities learn, work, and belong through hands-on vocational and life-skills training in Lexington, NC. Participants step into real community life—pursuing employment and volunteer opportunities, hosting Civitan activities, joining service projects and drives, and speaking for the United Way—to build confidence and independence.

Precision Box Assembly for a Local Business
Our supervised team assembled corrugated boxes to support a local company’s shipping needs—accurately, on schedule, and with documented quality checks. The project built fine-motor skills, teamwork, and workplace confidence while delivering reliable, repeatable results for the employer.

Community Gardening for Food Access & Skills
The Workshop of Davidson participants planned, planted, and maintained raised garden beds in Lexington, NC—learning teamwork, scheduling, and responsibility. Seasonal harvests were shared with our group homes and also used in cooking classes for hands-on learning builiding healthy eating and life skills.

Our team prepared foam components and cardboard backers for use in protective packaging. Participants glued and pressed foam to cardboard bundling consistent sets — building accuracy and stamina while delivering ready-to-use kits for a local business.
