Residential Services

The Workshop operates two fully supervised group homes, one for women and one for men. Through the operation of these group homes, the following services are offered:

✭ Learning opportunities in independent living skills
✭ Transportation to medical appointments and selected activities
✭ Assistance with medication administration and financial management
✭ Counseling and support

Admission Criteria

Eligibility Requirements:

✭ Age requirements are 18 years of age or older for residential programs
✭ Intellectual or Developmental Disability or Traumatic Brain Injury
✭ Applicants who exhibit aggressive or dangerous behaviors may not be accepted
✭ If applicants experience seizures, they must be under control
✭ Applicants must be able to physically and emotionally care for their needs (to include but not limited to: ambulation, eating, dressing, bathing and toileting)
✭ Applicants must be able to participate in vocational/life skills training, community employment, volunteering or other opportunities during the day Monday- Friday.

Admission Procedure

Applicants must be referred by an LME/MCO or other funding source that is contracted with The Workshop of Davidson, Inc.

Financial Obligations:

✭ Room and Board Rates are determined by the Department of Social Services with payment due on a monthly basis
✭ Residents are responsible for the cost of personal items, clothing, televisions/other electronics, medications, and other healthcare supplies.

Required information includes:

✭ Application/ HDS lease screening
✭ Current physical exam/FL2, TB, and Hepatitis Screening
✭ Current psychological report with adaptive testing and definitive IDD or TBI diagnosis, Health/Social/Vocational history
✭ Current sources of identification to include but not limited to: Valid NCID card, Social Security Card, Birth Certificate, etc.
✭ All applicants will be screened by the admissions committee. Those found ineligible may be referred to other agencies for services.
✭ All applicants are encouraged to visit the facility for a tour before admission
